Wood block print, ink on paper, 6"x7.5" printed on May 19th, 2009. This is my second attempt at wood block printing. I'm still working out how to evenly print the image since I don't have a press.

That is an excellent effort without a press! How did you do the wood block printing?

I put down the paper on a table and layed the inked block onto the paper then applied pressure with my hands. Afterward I flipped the block so the paper was on top and rubbed a spoon over the paper to get any spots that didn't get inked. This process works best with wood blocks where a lot of pressure is needed to print the image.

Wow thats a really good process! You probably don't need a press, if you can press natural objects like that, all more the better! :) But of course you might get a press for other kinds of printing like etchings :). U did great with the wood blocks! :)
